Parents & Citizens (P&C) Association
Interested in being part of the P&C or learning more about the P&C? The contribution of enthusiastic parents to Aranda Primary School helps to make this a great school. Joining other parents on the P&C keeps you involved and informed about what is happening in our school community. All parents/carers of children at Aranda are welcome to get involved and attend P&C meetings held on Thursday evenings at the Resource Centre from 7-9pm in weeks 3 and 8 of every school term.
Minutes of our meetings are here – P&C Meeting Minutes.
P&C roles, activities and volunteering
The P&C fundraises for the school and provides a forum for parents to support and engage with the school. The P&C objectives and our structure can be found in our Constitution. The P&C is independent from the School Board and the After School Care program (run by Aranda Afters).
The P&C organise and operate the Good Mood Food Canteen, the Uniform Shop, the Aranda Music & Arts Program, the Class Parent Representative Program , School Banking and the Preschool Parents SubCommittee.
We also encourage supporting our local community through the local businesses “Don’t forget your SOCS” program, Commonwealth Bank School Banking (at Jamison) and Athletes Foot (Belconnen Mall). These entities provide money to our P&C or the School when you and your children support them.
Every year we fundraise, organising a variety of events to build community engagement and raise money for resources for Aranda Primary children, teachers and staff. These events include the highly successful biannual School Fete, school socials and movie nights, cake stalls, sausage sizzles, read-a-thons, night markets, walkathons and runathons, trivia nights and bush dances. To run these events and raise money for the school depends on the commitment of our parents, so please volunteer with us. This year’s current and past events are listed with the money we have raised at Fundraising.
