The Aranda Primary School Resource Centre which opened in 2010 was funded by the Building the Education Revolution (BER) initiative. This purpose-built structure combines our libraries, music room and community meeting room. Its design includes covered walkways and a ramp for wheelchair access and a rain water tank to compliment our school's commitment to a sustainable future.
Our student library is available both through programmed access and also student initiative. Each week every class has a library session with our teacher librarian where they can exchange books; they also learn about library structure and the use of research materials. Additionally, students may use the library facility during the second half of their lunch break.
The teacher resource library provides a reserve of materials that the teachers can use to supplement their classroom resources and to support their planning.
The community meeting room is used extensively by staff and community groups. It has the capacity to house moderate sized meetings. The facilities include a data projector and screen, a small self-contained kitchen area and separate access from the library.
