The Visual Arts Co-operative, established in 2002, is a group of volunteer parents with and without visual arts expertise. The Co-operative aims to help teachers so that children can have more ‘hands-on’ visual art experience during class time. Some examples to date have been: helping with easel painting, particularly in Kindergarten and Year 1; providing technical expertise; sourcing materials; and hands on help with class art preparation and clean up. The Co-operative is also planning and helping with broader visual art projects in the school. New parent volunteers are always most welcome.
