School Climate and Student Management
The school promotes socially acceptable behaviour based on the fundamental principles of respect, care and responsibility. Parents are assured the school will contact them if their child’s progress or behaviour indicates that this is necessary. The school requests that parents inform the teacher or Principal when their child’s school progress or behaviour might be affected in some way by circumstances not known to the school (serious illness in family, separation and so on).
The rules are posted around the school. They are:
- the right to learn
- the right to be respected and
- the right to feel safe
- the right to have property respected.
We are all responsible for this.
Teachers begin the school year by discussing what the rules will look like / sound like / feel like in the classroom and playground. Regular follow-up lessons on school rules occur during the year.
Students are encouraged and given strategies to reflect on their achievements, behaviour and contributions to the school. They are encouraged to work towards “Personal Best”. The You Can Do It! Program is implemented from Preschool to Year 6 and the foundations of
- Getting Along
are embedded across all aspects of school life at Aranda.
