Aranda Primary School is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment which develops the self-esteem of all students. This is achieved by:
- ensuring that there is equality of learning opportunities;
- utilising a gender-inclusive curriculum; and
- by giving explicit attention to inclusive learning and assessment strategies and environment facilities,
thereby increasing awareness, understanding and active acceptance in the school community. In 2002 the school community had a focus on boys and learning. Parent and teacher workshops led to a paper outlining strategies that provide the best learning environment for boys and girls. Included in this Handbook is the school statement on Inclusivity and Gifted and Talented Students developed in 2002. This area was updated in 2005 to reflect curriculum differentiation which is the focus for planning and assessment at Aranda.
